Rami Hanafi is a Finland-based photographer who works everywhere in the world. He started his career shooting snowboarding (following his 14 years as a snowboarder, being sponsored by for example Burton, Finland) with boarders like Antti Autti, Scotty Lago, Risto Mattila and Markku Koski to name a few. His work has been published in magazines such as Fluid, Transworld Snowboarding and Onboard.

Hanafi started studying photojournalism 2002 at the University of Tampere, Finland. At the moment he is busy working as a photojournalist for Finnish newspapers and magazines and also shooting commercial work for his many clients. Among his clients he is well-known as a trusted and passionate photographer who is really easy to work with.

Despite his young age, born 1979, has he been awarded several times already and his work has been shown in many appreciated exhibitions. Year 2006, he was chosen the snowboard photographer of the year by the French magazine Fluid. Also was he nominated as the Young Photojournalist of the Year in Finland. Year 2008 he was nominated for the best foreign reportage.

As a snowboard photographer Rami is known for his creative use of lighting and angles, always trying to find a new innovative point of view. Whether it is editorial or commercial work it's the story, intimacy and the feelings that he values most.
