Perttu Saksa
On top of beating drums and catching fish, photography is what Perttu does. For him it is a compact and independent form of self-expression that fits his uncompromising attitude towards the craft. Perttu (born 1977, father of a cute baby girl) did his masters at The Finnish Academy of Fine Arts after his photography studies in The Lahti Institute of Design. He did however have the mind of a photographer already long before, he has had a camera in his hand since he was 15.
Perttu values simple and strong ideas whatever the subject may be. Perttu´s pictures are classical in a sense and do not need any extra toppings to make them nice. That is why Perttu´s photography lasts through time. Good photography makes you stop and think, it is either esthetically intriguing or tells a story. In Perttu´s case it is both.
