Pekka Stålnacke
Pekka was born in Kiruna 1975 to a Swedish father and Finnish mother.
He moved to Luleå to study as a chef and then moved to Stockholm 1994 and work as a chef for a couple of years. That’s when he developed his passion for detail, also visually. In 1996 he started to study in a media school where he learned the basics in journalism, photography and graphic design. He also studied in Kulturama in Stockholm.
After having assisted other photographers for a couple of years he started to work on his own as a still life photographer 2001.
He mostly shoots high quality and ultra-stylish commercial still life photography, but he also does some editorial work for magazines.
"In my still life photos I put a lot of work into lighting, but I also really enjoy working with composition and form", Pekka says.
In his free time he spends most of his time with his girlfriend and their two small daughters. He also loves to skateboard and is addicted to sauna.
